Tangent Films was formed in 1997 by a team that had worked together at other production companies, making many factual and documentary series and single films for BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Discovery, National Geographic, TLC and ARTE.

Tangent's broadcast productions include a landmark documentary about St. George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, which sold worldwide. Others include highly regarded films for ARTE and Discovery International about Argentinian gauchos and Maasai elders.

Our promotional work includes films that advocate major regeneration and development projects for property companies such as Chelsfield, Canary Wharf Group, Delancey, and Parabola Land. We also produce videos, DVDs and web films for arts groups, non-profit organizations, local authorities and businesses - from small companies to Barclays Bank. Our films for Parabola Land led to an invitation to move Tangent to Kings Place when it opened in 2008. Since then, we have made dozens of films for the Kings Place Music Foundation about the artists who perform and exhibit at Kings Place.

Our web design work is a natural evolution from TV and video production and builds on our scripting and production skills. The growing demand for multimedia-rich web content makes it an increasing part of our activities.

We are currently developing a documentary for cinema about the Nobel-nominated musician turned environmentalist Aubrey Meyer and his music-inspired formula for cutting carbon emissions. Increasingly seen as our best hope for an effective global climate deal, Meyer's ideas may yet change the world… As the US economist Herman Daly famously said: 'the economy is a wholly owned subsidiary of the environment – not the reverse'. That thought drives our thinking…
